At Hambleton Primary Academy we work together to ensure all our children achieve academic success whilst remaining healthy, happy and emotionally aware young people ready to move to the next stage of their education.
Subject Intent
At Hambleton Primary Academy, we believe that our students should have the opportunity to follow a Computing curriculum that prepares them for life in modern Britain and take advantage of opportunities that can offer them in both Britain and the wider world. Good quality IT skills enable children to engage positively within the modern workplace, while Computer Science skills enable students to take an active part in the design, development and creation of new technologies to be used in the world in which they live.
Subject Specific Aims
The national curriculum for computing aims to ensure that all children:

Can understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation.

Can analyse problems in computational terms, and have repeated practical experience of writing computer programs in order to solve such problems.

Can evaluate and apply information technology, including new or unfamiliar technologies, analytically to solve problems are responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology.
